SHC - The Brainchild of
OG Freestyle BMXer, Dom Mach
Social Hermit Collective (SHC) is a Bikes and Boards Street Wear Clothing Brand, founded by Dom Mach, an ‘OG’ freestyle BMXer.
Dom’s purpose for starting his clothing line and building this website, was to showcase original artwork, designs, and photography by artists who also share a passion for action sports. There will be absolutely NO AI-generated art or designs used in our products.

'Social Hermit Collective'
The Story Behind The Name
The idea behind the name, Social Hermit Collective, comes from the fact that most artists isolate themselves from others, in order to create art. There are a lot of artists in the world… and there are a lot of people that shred on a BMX, skateboard, snowboard, etc. …but, there are very few that do both (…not at the same time, of course!).
With SHC, Dom is putting a spotlight on those individuals, and sharing their art with the world, under one brand, as a collective.
Supporting Events and Athletes
Giving Back
Social Hermit Collective will be giving back to the BMX, skateboard, snowboard, and mountainbike communities, by supporting events and athletes with product prizes and sponsorships.

Introducing...
The First Featured Artists
The first three Featured Artists, whose art is displayed on the initial batch of products to be offered in the SHC online store are:
- Dom Mach: founder of SHC, mid-school BMXer for life
- Jeff Ferner: lifelong talented skateboarder/BMXer (deceased)
- Simon Barry: also a mid-school BMXer for life
Check out their bios and some action shots on the Featured Artists page.
Artists Want To Know
How It Works
The artists featured in SHC will receive 50% of the profits from items sold using their artwork or likeness. As Jeff Ferner has passed away, his 50% will all go back to the skateboard community in his home town of Kelowna, BC.
In comparison, a common royalty percentage range is between 3% and 10% of profits, but some contracts can go as high as 25% or more, according to Google Search. So clearly, our artists are not being exploited.
Currently, our artists’ work is available on t-shirts, hoodies, sweatshirts, stickers and canvas prints, in our e-shop. More products will be added over time.
